A life long dream ...
This is going to be great! I estimate an all over travel time of about one month. No need to hurry, is there? A wonderful reference as to what there is to see along the Mother Road is the website Historic Route 66 [1]. It prepared me pretty good and I expect to see loads of interesting landmarks along the way. Of course I'll stay in touch with you guys and will post pics along the way.

Ok, its time for me to get ready. I'll be leaving in about half an hour and it's time to fire up my Google Earth. What? Did you think I'm doing the trip in real life? Fat chance of that going to happen any time soon. I've been in between jobs for more than 2 years now and I'm quite happy if I have the money to put food on my family's table. No 1 month trips to the U.S. for me in the near future. But hey! The entire Route 66 has been travelled by Google's trusty Streetview cars. I will just follow them. Yes, you read right. I will actually travel the whole route in Streetview! Have Google Earth, will travel!
Travel reports ...
Whenever I'll find something interesting I'll post a screen shot. I will also look up whatever I can find about the area I'm just travelling through on the Internet and will post a regular travel report with information and links. I will let you know what music I'll be listening to on the trip and will even try to find out what the special dish of the particular area is and will try and cook it at home. The total travel experience!
